The atelier process
Six steps, from the shutter to the signature. None is decorative: each adds something to the finished work.

1. Original photograph
Bleu lavande
An image taken by Mathieu Delranc, chosen for its light and composition. The chosen framing will never be altered.

2. Painterly interpretation
Cyprès
The image is deeply reworked towards a painterly language: matter, brushwork, values, the density of skies.

3. Printing on canvas
Ocre jaune
The image is printed on a matte canvas, then finished by hand in the atelier. The pigment inks are chosen for their stability and depth.

4. Hand finishing
Ocre rouge
Worked by hand with texture gel to give relief to skies, foliage and stone. Each copy becomes unique through its matter.

5. Satin finish
Sienne brûlée
A satin protection evens out the surface, protects the painted layer and softens reflections.

6. Signature and certificate
Olivier
Hand signature, numbering within the edition, and a certificate detailing title, format and process.
Mathieu Delranc is not a traditional oil painter, and none of the works shown here is an original oil painting. They are original photographs turned into works on canvas, hand-finished.
